The Student Academic Engagement and Success Survey (SAES survey): designed to gauge the academic engagement of undergraduate students. It assesses the frequency of students’ use of campus resources such as the writing center and library spaces. The survey also delves into reasons for using or not using the library and explores students’ perceptions of self-regulation. At the end of the survey, two open-ended questions were included to define academic success and academic goals.

The Online Weekly Journal (OWJ): aims to capture students’ weekly academic engagement, perceptions of self-regulation, and evaluation of their own academic success. It also considers internal (e.g., concentration difficulties) and external factors (e.g., part- time work, family responsibilities) affecting engagement, along with demographic information. This survey is comprised of both closed and open-ended questions. Closed-ended questions track engagement with different academic centers across campus, including the online and physical library. At the beginning and end of the 8-week journaling period, students reflect on academic engagement, define academic success, and identify their academic goals in open-ended questions. It consists of three parts: Week 1 (with extra questions on academic goals), Weeks 2- 7, and Week 8 (with additional questions on evaluating their academic goals and success).
